The UK headquarters for Sky Group, the Sky Campus houses Sky Central and Sky’s Believe in Better Building (BiBB): an award-winning office building where we delivered the substructure and superstructure packages.
Sky’s new Innovation Centre is the next stage of the redevelopment and provides a further flexible workspace for creative collaboration and tech innovation. We were appointed to design and construct the piled foundations for the new three-storey steel framed building. This involved the construction of more than 100nr 500 mm diameter cfa bearing piles with depths ranging between 10 m and 27 m.
Working to the highest standards of sustainability and within an extremely noise-sensitive location, we were able to deliver the piling works to budget and within a contract period of three weeks.

To meet the client’s sustainability targets for the project, concrete mixes were carefully reviewed to achieve a 70% GGBS cement replacement. Piles were also installed using a fully instrumented Soilmec SR-95 piling rig, which met Stage 5 emissions criteria.

To ensure there were no disturbances to live broadcasts taking place in nearby buildings, noise levels were carefully monitored at each site boundary. Our selected CFA piling technique also enabled us to keep noise disturbance to an absolute minimum.
