UpgradeMorrisroe operates in the high-end UK construction market and is able to deliver projects of great complexity and scale. It is an engineer-led and multi-disciplinary contractor with specialist design capability, described more commonly in the Industry as a construction ‘specialist’.
Our spearhead specialist services include demolition, piling, structures, joinery and carpentry. These services are supported by in-house plant, haulage and post tensioning divisions.
A differentiating aspect to our business is our partnership with design and engineering practice, Kingscote Design Limited (founded by Brian Morrisroe in 2012), which provides both permanent and temporary works design services on all Morrisroe projects and wide-ranging construction engineering support to project teams. Kingscote Design is now playing a central role in developing low concrete carbon solutions alongside other value engineering solutions in the preconstruction stages.
We have always delivered stand-alone specialist services, but we are also one of a small handful of specialist trade contractors able to‘self-deliver’ large and specialist packages of works to the London and Birmingham markets. Under our integrated self-delivery model, we are proving to be a contractor of choice for value-led project delivery.
Flagship schemes include the London Aquatic Centre, Tottenham Hotspur Football Stadium, One Blackfriars, The Library of Birmingham, and 40 Leadenhall. More recently, we have delivered integrated projects such as Blossom Street and One Broadgate.
Our vision is to be an agile, innovative and solutions-focused contractor, able to serve the property and construction market for decades to come.
Against this vision, our core values do not change. They sit at the heart of our systems and processes and ensure our project delivery is anchored in the right approach.
At Morrisroe, safety is more than just a priority – it’s a core value. That’s a very important distinction. Our business priorities are ever changing but our core values never change – they define who we are all of the time.
We care deeply about the safety of all project stakeholders, our clients, our suppliers, our people and the communities we operate in. Our holistic approach to people and their safety is encapsulated in our responsible business strategy.
We strive each day to exceed the expectations of our clients. Our commitment to continuous improvement, greater efficiency, less waste and certain planning outcomes generates trust and supports relationships with our key stakeholders.
This results in the sort of teamwork and collaboration that drives better project outcomes.
We have built relationships with leading developers and some of the best Tier 1 contractors in London. Our ethical approach to business generates trust and enables us to forge lasting and effective partnerships with our clients and suppliers.
Within our business, we work hard to build and maintain internal bonds between people across companies and departments so that we can be truly integrated and highly productive. And on our projects, we bring the spirit of true collaboration, aiming to always be honest, open and transparent so that when inevitable changes take place, they can more easily be resolved.
As a design and engineering-led specialist contractor, we believe we are uniquely placed to make the biggest difference to project outcomes. We are steadily being recognised as a "go-to" expert on low carbon solutions. Our ability to collaborate and co-create with our clients at every stage of the design and build process unlocks our unique potential and enables us to deliver maximum value.
Our responsible operating approach ensures we maintain a balanced view of success, ensuring that we always find the right balance between the interests of our business and the interests of our key stakeholders, the environment and society at large. This approach helps us to align with the broader objectives of our clients in relation to sustainability and ESG.
"Change is inevitable and should be embraced to enable continuous improvement. Our clients have debated for many years now whether the current business model of the industry delivers value.
I am seeing some encouraging signs of change in the procurement strategy of many of our clients as they adopt a more principled approach. Within our business, I feel we have embraced change. We have evolved our service offer and business model to provide our clients with better value. We are also more proactively communicating with our clients at a much earlier stage, as it is in those early stages that our significant design capability, in both permanent and temporary works, can often crystallise better value and certainty of delivery for our clients.
I believe we are well positioned for the future. We have shown resilience and diligence in the way that have evolved our business to better serve our market in spite of the some of the most challenging and disruptive circumstances in recent years. I am proud of the way we have responded to this with a positive attitude. As we approach our 40th year, I would like to thank our valued clients who place their trust and confidence in us. Most of all, it is the people at every level of our business whose ongoing support I am deeply grateful for as we look forward to the future."
Our governance arrangements continually flex to support our strategic goals. As ever, our focus is on operational delivery and we have efficient systems in place to enable fast and effective decision-making. Our responsible business strategy informs our decision-making and generates trust with all of our key stakeholders.
