We provided piling services for this new development, which is set to offer over 100,000 sqft of office space, retail space and terrace gardens.
Our scope for this £550k project included 160 linear metres of embedded retaining wall formed using hard/firm secant piles, which were installed using continuous flight auger (CFA) techniques to lengths ranging from 8 to 20 m.

All piles were completed in a single visit to site utilising our Soilmec SR-75 piling rig. Works were delivered on time and budget with every party left satisfied.

Piling

The site location and access required a detailed pre-construction planning phase with J Coffey and the Main Contractor, Mace. Due to constraints imposed by neighbouring buildings and general ground levels, the secant piles had to be installed from three different platform levels, adding complexity to the logistics on this small site.

Proactive dialogue and solutions such as locating the concrete pump and agitator in the street outside the site allowed us to overcome these challenges.
