Also known as Arundel Great Court, One The Thames is a prestigious riverfront development comprising two residential towers and a hotel complex. Situated on the bend of the River Thames’ north bank, it offers unrivalled views of the river and a handful of London’s most historic buildings.
We initially constructed a substructure and superstructure reinforced concrete frame while managing the completion of underground drainage lightning protection systems. When Carillion went into compulsory liquidation in January 2018, we were appointed Principal Contractor, completing the substructure and superstructure of all three buildings.

Complex Work

More than one area required complex work. Our sophisticated temporary works solution to secure the existing external walls and roads during excavation was designed in-house. A similarly complicated temporary works support system was needed for the adjoining roads around the site perimeter, which was left partially in place until the construction of the ground floor over B1, B2 and B3.
Finally, the site’s location next to the River Thames meant considerable dewatering was required. The basement to B2 and the external walls to the ground floor were cast using waterproof concrete.
